My third model shoot took place on June 1 with a beautiful and energetic young lady named Jesika Ellen. Since she was in Langley and me out further in Mission, we decided to try a location near her called Redwood Park in Cloverdale.
The park was beautiful with huge trees, lush meadows and great trails to work around. The meadow shown in the picture to the left had an insanely huge deciduous tree with a big mass off buttercups to the right of it. After shooting some spots around the tree trunk, we decided to take it to the buttercups. I wanted to get some of the flowers in the foreground, so Jesika being a dancer, was extremely graceful just playing with the flowers while I snapped like a madman. We had a couple of gusts of wind which also really helped, and I think this picture was the best of the bunch. Jesika is very ambitious and driven to make modeling a career, and I think she really has a legitimate shot at it. (more on her Model Mayhem profile here)
I’ve processed six of the best photos, including one in black & white, which can be found on my flickr account. I also experimented with a multi-image technique where you shoot a person with a wider shot on a tripod and they move to a bunch of different positions and poses, and snap off a bunch of shots from one position. Then you go back and layer over the photos of a few good ones to make it look like there are three or more models in one shot. I hope it works out, but I’ve yet to process those yet. Soon!
