I have the good fortune to be working very soon with another beautiful, but VERY green model, who happens to live out in the Fraser Valley near me. We’ve been chatting on MSN about photos, and she shared a few photos that were either taken with her cell phone, or her boyfriend’s camera. I decided to take on a bit of a challenge in Photoshop CS3 to see what I could do with these low-res photos — just for fun!
The first one was a very cool photo that was originally sent to me in black and white (click on the comparison photo above to see the differences). The problem with it was it needed cropping, and the focus seemed to be sharper on the feet in the background, and less on the pretty face. So basically I added a bit of a sepia tone, did a blur mask to draw the eyes more to the face rather than the feet, and finally added a darker vignette to draw even more into the face.
I think it turned out pretty good! I did one other photo just for fun and you can find it on my Flickr site in the Kirstie set. Comments always welcome!

Nice work and beautiful model. I have a lot of experience with Photoshop, and a good deal of experience in photography but have just started mixing the two. I like how you re-cropped the image and put the focus on the face. Nice!
