Last week I connected with a brand new model, Crissa Caprice who was just starting out and building her portfolio. She also just happened to be close to where I live, so we decided to find some locations in Abbotsford to shoot. Was nice not to have to go into Vancouver to shoot for a change.
Our first location was an old abandoned factory in the middle of Abbotsford. There were some cool red support poles that provided a nice background for the shot to the left. We shot some photos there and then went to a small creek under an abandoned bridge just past old Clayburn on the edge of Sumas Mountain.
First let me say that Crissa was interested in doing some artistic nude photos possibly at some point, and we agreed that we might, but only if she felt comfortable doing so. Well after shooting in an awesome secluded location, we decided to try some artistic nudes. I’ve included a couple of them on my flickr site, but please note they will only be visible if you actually agree to allow them to be seen. So if you just want to see the non-nudes, don’t worry, you won’t have to unless you make a few clicks.
I thought they turned out great, but my favorite is still the one by the red poles. Crissa was very relaxed and accommodating, even though we were getting eaten alive by mosquitos! I even broke the ice during the very first nude shot by slipping off a rock and soaking my entire foot in the creek.
On Saturday, I’m doing a creative shoot in Stanley Park that I’m tentatively calling “Dueling Makeup Artists.” Use your imagination on that!

Paul says:
As always, great shots. I also love the shot with the red supports. I have always been a fan of beauty in old warehouses and factories. I love the plants through the cracks, and oxidized support beams. The clothes is great for that picture as well.
You are really picking it up with all these models huh? Seems like you have a new one every day. Keep up the great work.
