Taking and editing self-portraits is hard!

Headshot Self Portrait BWI got my DSLR over a year ago and have surprisingly avoided doing any self-portraits of myself. Why would I want to take a picture of my ugly mug anyway? Well, the day has finally come where I had to break down and take some photos of myself. I got asked to do a photoshoot with a performer who was being interviewed for a brand new Vancouver lifestyle magazine called Bridge Magazine.

Their first issue comes out in a week or so, but the photos I shot today will be in their second or third issue (can’t remember). Unfortunately I can’t show those photos until they are published, but I’m really excited to at least be published! But I digress!

I got some new lighting gear today including a new Monfrotto light stand, a bracket to hold my SB600 flash and a shoot through/reflective umbrella (you can see it here) and thought I’d test it out on none other than myself. What I’ve learned is that the only thing worse than shooting yourself, is editing yourself in Photoshop!
