Last weekend I had the opportunity for my very first studio shoot. A fellow photographer friend and I decided to rent a studio for three full days (staggered over the next couple of months) and shoot as much as possible during this time. Last weekend we had two models and a makeup artist show up (I also ended up doing some shots of the makeup artist Queenie because she was also very photogenic – more on that in a future post). While unfortunately we had two no-shows, we made the most of what we had with the models who came.
I shot Juliana a few weeks ago and got some great images, but I was also very happy with how these ones turned out. Of course it never hurts having a very striking looking model, but I was just so happy with how crisp and vibrant studio photos end up. I still need to work on practicing my lighting skills (see primary setup above) — I have a LOT to learn there. So visit Juliana’s set on my flickr site to see more photos from this shoot. And in the coming days I’ll post the other photos from this shoot.
I’m sooooo backlogged on editing photos. I have a total of FIVE other shoots to edit still! Yikes!

Good stuff Steve. Sounds like you all are going to fully utilize that studio time. Can’t wait to see the rest of the shots from it.
