Model Shoot – Juliana

Furry HeadshotOn a cool, blustery day earlier this week (Wednesday), I headed to downtown Vancouver for what was supposed to be two shoots. Unfortunately my first model canceled out because she was sick, but this also afforded me the opportunity to scout out some “covered” locations in case it rained during my planned late afternoon/early evening shoot.

Luckily for me I did find a couple of cool locations under the Granville and Burrard street bridges that allowed me to shoot with some natural light, have outdoor background settings, but also be covered so that the model and my gear wouldn’t get wet.

Rockin'Juliana was a trooper in the cool, wet evening weather and flashed a brilliant smile along with her striking features to make some very vibrant and colorful pictures. I used my flash off-camera shooting into an umbrella while under the bridge to give some brightness to the impending behind-the-clouds sunset that was happening while we were under the bridge. I think the pictures turned out pretty good considering the conditions. Of course it helps to have a beautiful model, and in the case of the graffiti wall, some very striking orange and red tones in the background.

You can see the whole photoset on flickr.
